Share your thoughts on our draft transport strategies for Great Yarmouth and King's Lynn

Closes 5 Nov 2025

Opened 24 Sep 2025

Overview

Norfolk County Council (NCC) is updating its Great Yarmouth and King's Lynn Transport Strategies to reflect changes in national and local transport policy that have occurred since 2020. Most notably NCC’s new Local Transport Plan which provides the strategy for transport investment in Norfolk. Other changes include the impact of the pandemic, new national Government and the development of local cycling and walking infrastructure plans and delivery of multiple transport projects.

The strategies highlight the transport infrastructure that we would like to see delivered, if funding becomes available within the next five to ten years, to enable sustainable growth, while protecting Great Yarmouth and King's Lynn's culture and heritage.

The Great Yarmouth Transport Strategy focuses on the main urban area of Great Yarmouth, Southtown, Gorleston-on-Sea, Bradwell, and Caister-on-Sea.

The King’s Lynn Transport Strategy focuses on the main urban area of King’s Lynn, North Lynn, South Lynn, West Winch, Gaywood, North Wootton and South Wootton.

Why your views matter

This consultation is the chance for you to find out more about the Great Yarmouth and King's Lynn Transport Strategies and give us your views. The strategies can be viewed at the bottom of this page.

The strategies have been developed in partnership with Great Yarmouth Borough Council (GYBC) and the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk (BCKLWN). We have held regular meetings with borough council officers and councillors. We also held a stakeholder engagement workshop in Great Yarmouth and King's Lynn in Autumn 2024, to help inform the development of the strategies.

We really want to hear from people that live, work and spend leisure time in Great Yarmouth and King's Lynn and their surrounding areas, as well as organisations with an interest in the boroughs' local transport infrastructure, to get your thoughts on the proposed strategies.
