Overview

We want your views on our proposals to improve the route between the train station and marketplace in Great Yarmouth for pedestrians and cyclists.  

Our proposals include:

• A more attractive and user-friendly layout to the train station forecourt;
• A wide and continuous route for pedestrians and cyclists from the train station
through to the marketplace via The Conge;
• A new unsegregated cycle and pedestrian footway linking Acle New Road with
Vauxhall Bridge;
• An opportunity to develop a landscaped ‘garden walk’ between the bridge and North
Quay along with landscaped planting areas on the station side of the bridge;
• Improved crossing points for pedestrians and cyclists throughout the route and
modified junction arrangements along The Conge to prioritise pedestrians and
cyclists;
• Improved lighting, signage

Why your views matter

The proposals are being developed in partnership with Great Yarmouth Borough Council and in line with the wider vision of the Town Centre Masterplan.

During the consultation period there will be chances for you to come along and discuss the proposals with the project team and give your response in person.
 
Drop in sessions will be held at:
 
  • The train station on Friday 17 February from 8.00am to 6.00pm.
  • Market Gates on Wednesday 22 February and Friday 3 March from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
  • Asda on Wednesday 1 March from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
