Mileham Primary School and Litcham School : Amalgamation into a single all-through school for pupils aged 4 - 16 from September 2015
Overview
In September 2014 when the Headteacher of Mileham Primary School left his post, Mileham and Litcham Schools entered into a temporary partnerhsip for one year, whilst the options for the future of Mileham Primary School were assessed. This partnership has been successful and the Litcham Governors are now wishing to legally combine the two schools into a single organisation, on the current two sites of Litcham School from 1 Sepember 2015.
In order for this to happen, legal steps have to be taken. Following a statutory consultation Norfolk County Council published the Statutory Public Notice (13 April 2015) to 'close' Mileham Primary School with effect from 31 August 2015. All the pupils will be offered a place at Litcham School. Representations were invited during the four week period which closed on 10 May 2015.
On 13 May 2015, the Director of Children's Services, in her role as Decision Maker, determined in favour of the proposal to close Mileham Primary School on 31 August 2015. The Equality Impact Assessment and Determination Report/Notice are posted below.
Update 28 May 2015
A submission by the governors during the representation period was not received by Norfolk County Council. In the light of this a process for reviewing the determination has been agreed and is posted accordingly.
Update 5 June 2015
An appendix to the final determination report is posted below.
