Norwich Angel Road/Waterloo Road junction - felling of street trees
Overview
For this Bus Service Improvement Plan project to be delivered according to the final design, we need to remove two trees, outside 139 and 145 Waterloo Road. A report from the project’s tree specialist advised that the root protection area of the two Sweet Gum trees is within the section where full-depth construction is needed. The trees would not survive the cutting of their roots to allow construction and so they need to be removed.
Due to the lack of space, and consideration of access to the local funeral director’s site, replanting of trees is not possible within the new layout of the junction so the proposal is to plant five new replacement trees outside house numbers 166a to 172 St Clements Hill.
You can view copies of the tree site notice, as well as the final project plan, through the links below. The project plan shows the two trees planned for removal outlined in red.
