Your views on Herring Bridge (Third River Crossing)
Overview
Consultation on your views on Herring Bridge
The Herring Bridge (formally the Third River Crossing) opened to traffic in February 2024, and more recently the final public realm improvements on Bollard Quay were completed in June 2025. In order to minimise disruption, Norfolk County Council partnered with National Highways to undertake improvements to the Harfrey’s Roundabout (that were promoted by National Highways) as part of the Herring Bridge construction work. These roundabout improvements were completed in late 2023.
Now that both schemes are finished, we are seeking views on whether the bridge has achieved its objectives and delivered the expected benefits. We would also like to understand peoples’ views on how the construction and communication of the project was managed.
As a result, please could you complete this short on-line survey, which will help us understand how to improve the delivery of future projects. The survey results will form part of an overall Monitoring and Evaluation Report that will be submitted to the Department for Transport and published on Norfolk County Council’s project web page.
Please answer the questions in the online survey on the following page.
