Update:
On 1 August 2024 Sara Tough as Executive Director of Children's Services, Norfolk County Council, made the following determination:
To change the age range at St John's Community Primary School and Nursery, Hoveton from 3-11 years to 4-11 years, and to run all nursery provision for 3 year olds via Community Facility Powers under the direction of the School Governors from 1 September 2024. Statutory proposal to change the age range of St John's Community Primary and Nursery from 3-11 to 4-11 years and to run all nursery provision for 3 year olds via Community Facility Powers under the direction of the School Governors from September 2024.
Norfolk County Council, in partnership with St John's Community Primary and Nursery school’s Governing Body part of The Green Shoots Federation are proposing:-
a) To change the age range at St John’s Community Primary School and Nursery from 3 - 11 to 4 - 11 years, from 1 from September 2024. The published admission number (PAN) for the main school will not be affected by these proposals. The PAN for the maintained nursery class will cease to exist, as nursery provision will be offered in a more flexible way, according to parental demand.
b) To run all nursery provision for 3 year olds via Community Facility Powers under the direction of the School Governors from September 2024.
Nursery provision will continue to be provided on the site of St John’s Community Primary School and Nursery, both the school and nursery will continue to be governed by the same board and led by the same head teacher. The nursery provision will operate via Section 27 Community Facility Powers under the direction of the School Governors of the Green Shoots Federation.
