Overview

Norfolk County Council is putting forward proposals for changes to King Street in Norwich.

Our proposals are to turn King Street into a one way street, from the junction with Rouen Road to Music House Lane. This will then allow a contraflow cycle lane in a southbound direction.

These proposals will allow us to widen the footway on the eastern side, improving pedestrian facilities. A speed table will also be added at the entrance to Rouen Road to reduce vehicle entry speeds.

Please find more detailed plans at the bottom of this webpage.

If successfully funded, this scheme will be delivered by Transport for Norwich using money from the Department for Transport's Transforming Cities fund.

Further information

These proposed changes are part of the Norwich Area Transportation Strategy (NATS), known as Transport for Norwich. The principles of the project were agreed following consultation as part of the NATS Implementation Plan, which was adopted in 2010 and updated in 2013. The deadline for comments is Friday 27 March 2020.
