Consultation on proposed changes to Golden Ball Street and Westlegate

Closed 27 Jul 2015

Opened 22 Jun 2015

Results expected 17 Sep 2015

Overview

Transport for Norwich is our strategy for promoting sustainable transport in the city. We want to reduce through traffic across the city and remove general traffic from the main shopping streets, whilst at the same time making it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to get around. We want to make the city centre a more enjoyable space for people and to support shops and businesses in Norwich.

We have already made a number of changes to help us achieve our aim. We are now proposing a number of changes to Golden Ball Street, Westlegate and the surrounding area.

Please download our consultation document at the bottom of this page to find out more. Then click on the 'Online survey' button to tell us what you think of our ideas. From 1 July an exhibition of these proposals can be viewed at Westlegate Tower (window display) or in City Hall.

Why We Are Consulting

We want your comments so we can check whether we have got the proposals right. We will carefully consider all your comments and report them to the Norwich Highways Agency Committee on Thursday 17 September 2015.

The Committee will make a decision about whether to proceed with the scheme, or to make changes following your feedback.

If the project is approved, construction work could start on site as early as January 2016.  In this case, it would be expected that the scheme would be completed during summer 2016.
